If I drop you 3 or 4 feet off the ground into the ring, it’s going to hurt. “I better make sure I take my vitamins, and say my prayers, for Brody Adams.” My name is Mike Saunders. I am the owner and promoter of Alaska Pro Wrestling. It’s an hour and a half of old school wrestling entertainment. I was involved in mud racing all over Alaska, with my brother Jeff. About 14 years ago, he was involved in a snow machine accident, on Turnagain Pass. I believe it was about 7 guys died. He was one of them. After my brother passed away, I just kind of wanted to get into something that was totally different. When I started it about 5 years ago, my premise was to start a wrestling promotion that would help charities. I have about 10 guys, guys that work at Fred Meyer, guys that work a pharmacy, inventory, technician. That’s the thing, when you come out, they play your music. You come out from down the hallway, and the crowd sees you, and they go crazy. It’s great. You get the rush. And that’s what it’s all about. I’ve never really called it a career. It’s kind of like a hobby that I’ve had fun with. My brother and my nephews and neices, they think I’m some superstar. Like I got an action figure. I’m just Mike from Alaska. I just try to have fun with it. But wrestling basically was kind of my savor.
